1. Natural rubber (NR) is mainly composed of rubber hydrocarbons (polyisoprene), containing a small amount of protein, water, resin acids, sugars and inorganic salts. It has high elasticity, high elongation strength, excellent tear resistance and electrical insulation, good wear resistance and drought resistance, good processability, easy adhesion to other materials, and is superior to most synthetic rubber in comprehensive performance. The disadvantages are poor oxygen and ozone resistance, easy aging and deterioration, poor oil and solvent resistance, low acid and alkali corrosion resistance and low heat resistance. Use temperature range: about - 60 +80. The insulation layer and sheath of tyres, rubber shoes, rubber hoses, tapes, wires and cables and other general products are manufactured. It is especially suitable for manufacturing torsional vibration eliminators, engine shock absorbers, machine supports, rubber-metal suspension components, diaphragms and moulding products.
2. Copolymers of butadiene and styrene of styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR). Its properties are close to those of natural rubber, and it is the most productive general rubber at present. Its characteristics are that its wear resistance, aging resistance and heat resistance are better than those of natural rubber, and its texture is more uniform than that of natural rubber. The disadvantages are: low elasticity, poor flexibility and tear resistance, poor processing performance, especially poor self-adhesive and low raw rubber strength. Use temperature range: about - 50 +100. Mainly used to replace natural rubber to make tires, plywood, hoses, rubber shoes and other general products.
3. Cis-butadiene rubber (BR) is a cis-structured rubber made from butadiene. The advantages are: excellent elasticity and wear resistance, good aging resistance, excellent low temperature resistance, low calorific value under dynamic load, easy metal bonding. The disadvantages are low strength, poor tear resistance, poor processing performance and self-adhesive. Use temperature range: about - 60 +100. Generally, it is often used with natural rubber or styrene-butadiene rubber to produce tyre tread, conveyor belt and special cold-resistant products.
4. Isoprene rubber (IR) is a cis-structured rubber synthesized from isoprene monomer. Chemical composition, three-dimensional structure and natural rubber are similar, performance is very close to natural rubber, so it is known as synthetic natural rubber. It has most of the advantages of natural rubber, aging resistance due to natural rubber, elasticity and strength is slightly lower than natural rubber, poor processing performance, high cost. Use temperature range: about - 50 100 can replace natural rubber to make tires, rubber shoes, rubber hoses, tapes and other general products.
5. chloroprene rubber (CR) is a polymer made from monomer polymerization of chloroprene. This rubber molecule contains chlorine atoms, so compared with other general rubber, it has excellent antioxidant, ozone resistance, non-flammability, self-extinguishing after ignition, oil resistance, solvent resistance, acid and alkali resistance, aging resistance, good air tightness and other advantages; its physical and mechanical properties are also better than natural rubber, so it can be used as general rubber and special rubber. The main shortcomings are poor cold resistance, large proportion, high relative cost, poor electrical insulation, easy to stick and roll, easy to scorch and easy to stick mold in processing. In addition, raw rubber has poor stability and is not easy to preserve. Use temperature range: about - 45 +100. Mainly used in the manufacture of cable sheaths with high ozone resistance and aging resistance, various protective sheaths and protective covers, oil-resistant and chemical-resistant hoses, belts and chemical linings, fire-resistant underground mining rubber products, as well as various moulding products, seals, gaskets, binders, etc.
6. Butyl rubber (IIR) is a copolymer of isobutylene and a small amount of isoprene or butadiene. The main features are good air tightness, ozone resistance, aging resistance, high heat resistance, long-term working temperature can be below 130 C, strong inorganic acid (such as sulfuric acid, nitric acid) and general organic solvents, good vibration absorption and damping characteristics, and excellent electrical insulation. The disadvantages are poor elasticity, poor processability, slow vulcanization speed, poor adhesion and oil resistance. Use temperature range: about - 40 +120. Mainly used for inner tube, water tyre, balloon, wire and cable insulation layer, chemical equipment lining and shock products, heat-resistant conveyor belt, heat-resistant aging rubber products.
7. Copolymer of NBR butadiene and acrylonitrile. It is characterized by excellent gasoline and aliphatic hydrocarbon oil resistance, second only to polysulfide rubber, acrylate and fluorine rubber, and superior to other general rubber. Good heat resistance, air tightness, wear resistance and water resistance, strong bonding force. The disadvantages are poor cold and ozone resistance, low strength and elasticity, poor acid resistance, poor electrical insulation and poor polar solvent resistance. Use temperature range: about - 30 +100. Mainly used in the manufacture of various oil-resistant products, such as rubber hoses, sealing products.
8. Copolymers of hydrogenated butadiene-acrylonitrile rubber (HNBR) butadiene and acrylonitrile. It is obtained by hydrogenating the double bonds in butadiene of NBR wholly or partially. Its characteristics are high mechanical strength and wear resistance, heat resistance when crosslinked with peroxide is better than NBR, and other properties are the same as that of NBR. The disadvantage is that the price is higher. Use temperature range: about - 30 +150. Mainly used for oil and high temperature sealing products.
9. Copolymers of ethylene and propylene of ethylene-propylene rubber (EPMEPDM) are generally divided into ethylene-propylene diene rubber and ethylene-propylene diene rubber. It is characterized by excellent ozone resistance, ultraviolet resistance, weather resistance and aging resistance, ranking first in general rubber. Electrical insulation, chemical resistance, impact elasticity is very good, acid and alkali resistance, small proportion, can be filled with high coordination. The heat resistance can reach 150 C.
